Celebrating Mid- Autumn Fest with People in Daklak

Due to their residence in one of the most isolated communes in Daklak Province, the children face significant hardships, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Unfortunately, like many of their peers, they do not have the opportunity to wear new clothes to celebrate this special occasion. Instead of enjoying festive activities, they must follow their parents into the fields to help with the harvest, contributing to the family’s livelihood. The youngest children, unable to assist, sit patiently under a tree, finding solace in the shade as they wait for their parents to finish their work.

This year, the complicated circumstances brought about by the pandemic made it impossible for us to gather the children together for a celebration. In lieu of a communal gathering, we decided to bring the festivities to them. Riding our motorbikes, we traversed the rugged paths to deliver gifts directly to the children’s homes. As we approached their doorsteps, we were greeted with wide smiles and bright eyes. The children’s excitement was palpable as they received their Mid-Autumn Festival gifts, which were a symbol of joy during a time when entertainment and new experiences were scarce. Witnessing their happiness filled our hearts with warmth and joy, making all our efforts worthwhile. led as well.
